Michael Subramaniam awarded President's Cup

Mill Hill Village Cricket Club's annual juniors presentation took place earlier this month, recognising the outstanding achievements of young players and another highly succesful season.

Director of Cricket Philip Smith presided over the presentation at the club's Burtonhole Lane home with wife Mel and dozens of parents and children. Smith expressed his satisfaction with the 2024 season, highlighting the success of the new Under 10s girls team Mill Hill Finches and the fact that the juniors are now able to field more sides than ever and also won more games than they lost over the course of an encouraging season.

Smith also described the growth in the junior membership and the successful Dynamos and All-Stars programmes held at the club.

Coveted Under 11s, under 13s, under 15s, and under 17s player of the season awards were announced and commemorative medals were handed out to all players. Michael Subramaniam, a long-serving junior player, was honoured with the prestigious President's Cup. He received the trophy from his older brother Alexander, last-year's recipient (pictured above; Michael right). Smith described him as “probably the second-best keeper at the club right now” (after 1s keeper James Thompson) and he was also praised for his maturity and leadership.
