Mill Hill Village Cricket Club is back with a BANG – announcing a return to Sunday league action for the first time in TEN YEARS!
The club will enter the red-ball, 40-over Middlesex Premier Cricket League (MPCL) in 2025, shaking up the competition and giving members plenty to cheer about.
The MPCL, running since 1992, features 37 clubs and 48 teams battling it out across six fiercely competitive divisions. And with Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar as its patron, this is no pub league – it’s the real deal!
How is this all possible? A game-changing move has seen Mill Hill Village absorb Colindale Cricket Club, bringing a wave of fresh talent into the squad.
‘Fantastic development’
Director of Cricket Phil Smith couldn’t hide his excitement, saying:
“I am delighted to announce that we have entered a side into a Sunday league competition for the first time in a decade or so. We’ve recruited many new players formerly of Colindale CC who will be representing the club alongside our existing members in the MPCL. Welcome aboard to them!
“The MCPL fixtures will sit alongside our existing set of Mill Hill Village Development & Friendly XI fixtures, meaning that we will be able to offer Sunday cricket almost every weekend during the cricket season. On some Sundays, we may even field two teams. I think this is a fantastic development, allowing us to grow our own membership and get back to competing in Sunday league cricket again.”

The new Sunday XI will line up alongside Mill Hill’s already packed fixture list, meaning members will have more opportunities than ever to don their whites.
Cricket for all
Mill Hill Village now boasts an impressive setup with:
:: Four Saturday teams in the Saracens Herts Cricket League
:: A Sunday league XI competing in the MPCL
:: A Development & Friendly XI, also playing on Sundays
:: Mixed junior teams at U11, U13, U15, and U17 levels
:: A girls team
Former Colindale CC manager and new committee member Bhushan Chhabra is confident about the team’s chances: “I think we will have a strong team with a lot of variety in our bowling attack and solid batting. Our aim is to end up as one of the top two teams in the division.”
Leading the charge will be former Colindale all-rounder and new Mill Hill Village member H Ikram, who takes the captain’s armband for the Sunday XI in Division 5.
The season kicks off on May 11 with a home game against Wembley-based Gutal CC 2nd XI, starting at 1pm.
