The two clubs intend to strengthen girls' cricket by merging their resources and forming a brand-new team, Mill Hill Finches

Mill Hill Village Cricket Club and Finchley Cricket Club are proud to announce a new partnership with the aim of bolstering the girls' game in the area.

The two clubs intend to strengthen girls' cricket in the community by merging their resources and creating a new team, Mill Hill Finches, which will play at our Burtonhole Lane home.

Leading the girls' coaching will be Anisha Dissanayake (Middlesex CC, Sunrisers). A coach at Finchley Cricket Club since 2020, Dissanayake is also an ambassador for Take Her Lead, the non-profit organisation championing women and girls in cricket founded by Isa Guha, the commentator and former England international.

A Mill Hill Village Cricket Club spokesperson said: "Mill Hill Village Cricket Club and Finchley Cricket Club are thrilled to embark on this new partnership, united in our mission to empower the girls' game within our community. By merging our resources, we're taking a big step forward to strengthen girls' cricket in our area. Together, we're shaping a brighter future for girls' cricket."

Further details will be released in due course. In the meantime, please contact Finchley Cricket Club Chair Graham Leggett or Mill Hill Village Cricket Club Director of Cricket Phil Smith with any queries. Email info@millhillvillagecricketclub.co.uk.
