'Join us for an exciting season of juniors cricket! We can't wait to see new junior members on registration night on April 20'
- Director of Cricket Philip Smith

Mill Hill Village Cricket Club can reveal exciting plans for the 2023 juniors season, including the date for its registration evening for new members.

Parents, guardians and children are invited to the club’s registration evening for juniors at our Burtonhole Lane home on Thursday April 20 from 6.30pm to sign up for our outdoor training sessions.

The same night will also be the first of this season’s outdoor junior training sessions.

Director of Cricket Philip Smith said: “Join us for an exciting season of juniors cricket at Mill Hill Village Cricket Club! Our new outdoor nets facility will enhance our training nights and we have teams at all junior levels. With our highly competitive fees and a welcoming community, we can't wait to see new junior members on registration night!"

:: After Thursday’s registration night, subsequent training sessions will take place on Fridays, from April 28 to July 14 from 6.30pm to 8pm (longer if light permits).

:: Junior matches get underway during the week commencing April 24. This season the club will be running teams at Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 level. Click here for details of fixtures.

The club will be looking to build on the successes of last year when two new teams were added to the fold: an Under 11s B team, for the first time; and a revived Under 17s side, after several years without a team in that age group.

Details of registration fees/annual subs for the 2023 season are below and remain some of the most competitive around:

:: £150 - annual membership fee covering all junior training sessions and all junior matches for the season. The fee also covers the cost of a club match shirt or training shirt

:: £100 – annual membership fee for non-match playing Colts (usually Under 9s) and siblings of full paying junior members. This fee also covers the cost of a MHVCC-branded clothing item.

Older junior members, selected to play in adult matches at the weekend or evenings, will not need to pay an additional membership fee but will be asked to contribute £5 match fees per game.

The club will also take card payments on the April 20 registration night or at any of the subsequent Friday evenings sessions.

At the first training session on April 20, the club will be seeking to get as many people registered for the season as possible. However, it will also be possible to register your child/children on any subsequent Friday for those not able to make it down on that first Thursday evening.

To help things go smoothly on registration evening, it would be very helpful if parents/guardians could complete the appropriate registration form in advance and bring them along, once completed, or email them to info@millhillvillagecricketclub.co.uk.

Please note that there are two forms for those who have not previously registered with the club and another, shorter version for those who have previously registered, simply to re-confirm essential information. Download the appropriate form here.

All Stars Cricket (5-8yrs)
Separately, MHVCC is also planning on running the ECB’s introduction to the game, All Stars Cricket, for the sixth successive year. All Stars Cricket provides boys and girls from 5-8 years old with eight consecutive weeks of non-stop fun on Fridays for just £40. It starts on May 5 and runs until June 23, between 4:45pm-5.45pm at the club. More details on our website here.

Dynamos (8-11yrs)
For 8-11-year-olds, the club will be running the ECB’s follow-on programme, Dynamos, for the second consecutive year. Dynamos will take place for two weeks over the summer holidays from Tuesday August 1 to Thursday August 10 (5pm-6pm) and can be booked via the ECB here.

Volunteer with us
As the club’s juniors section continues to thrive, we remain on the lookout for volunteers.

Smith said: “Much progress has been made in recent years to grow and improve the juniors section. The success and growth is great but means that more and more support is needed with coaching, scoring, umpiring, match-day assistance, bartending and administration, etc. There are many ways to help, so please volunteer your services. We will find a suitable outlet for your skills and services and you may even have some fun along the way.”

Annual subs can be paid online. To do so, or if you'd like further information about getting involved with juniors cricket, contact Director of Cricket Philip Smith on 07976 297721 or email info@millhillvillagecricketclub.co.uk.
