Mill Hill Village Cricket Club is pleased to announce details for the 2024 junior cricket season, starting with an indoor training programme for youngsters aged 6-16 from February 2.

The indoor training programme will take place near our Burtonhole Lane home at Mill Hill School Sports Centre (pictured above), located on the Ridgeway, Mill Hill Village, London NW7 1QS) every Friday evening from February 2 and conclude on March 22, consisting of eight sessions in total.

Outdoor pre-season training sessions, weather permitting, will be scheduled from mid-April onwards, utilising the club's new net practice facilities.

Age group matches for juniors are likely to commence in late April.

The indoor sessions are divided into two time slots, one at the Sports Hall and the other at Gallery Nets facility.

Sports Hall sessions (5.30pm–7pm) will cater to the younger cohort with warm-ups, skills, drills, and structured games practice. The Gallery Nets sessions (6pm-7.30pm) are for juniors comfortable with hardball play and a traditional net practice.

Costs for the program are:
:: £55 for a one-off fee for a Sports Hall block booking (up to eight sessions) or £8 per session on a pay-as-you-go basis
:: For Gallery Nets, the one-off fee is £35 for the full program or £5 per session pay-as-you-go (possibly increasing to £45/£6.50 if extended to one hour)

The club also offers a pay-and-play basis costing £5 per session, with juniors allowed to turn up to as many or as few sessions as they like.

Mill Hill Village Director of Cricket Phil Smith said: "Attendance at the indoor training sessions is very much encouraged. We see genuine improvement among those who attend the pre-season sessions. If your children have friends, relatives or acquaintances who would like to try it out, feel free to bring them along for a free trial and please pass my details on to any parents or friends of other potential cricketers. We are always keen to boost both our youth and adult membership."

Smith added: "Mill Hill Village CC remains fully accredited by ECB Clubmark, demonstrating that we provide the right environment to ensure the welfare of members and encourage everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives.

"We were re-assessed in 2022 and passed successfully, assuring you that as an accredited club we are recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages."
