Season review: 3 Village batters meet Herts League criteria of scoring 300-plus runs in six or more completed innings

Mill Hill Village Cricket Club 1st XI opener Dan Potter has topped the 2023 season batting averages in a year where much of the top order struggled.

Potter, who announced at the end of the season that he was stepping down as 1st XI captain after five years in the role, averaged 40.75 in a year that the side was relegated from Saracens Herts League’s Division 4B. Potter (pictured above) scored 326 runs in nine innings with a top score of 73. He scored two fifties. Will Wyatt had the second-highest average in the 1st XI at 19.60. Potter, Aryan Thaker and Naz Asif - the club's MVP for the 2023 season according to Play-Cricket - were the only 1s players to score more than 100 runs in the season.
