Registration date for junior cricketers revealed

David Hickey24 Mar - 22:06

Join Mill Hill Village Cricket Club for our registration evening for the new season on April 19

Mill Hill Village Cricket Club can reveal the date for its registration evening for junior members.

Parents, guardians and children are invited to the club's registration evening for juniors at our Burtonhole Lane home on Friday April 19 from 6.30pm. New members are welcome.

Training
The same night will also be the first of this season’s outdoor junior training sessions following the completion of a successful and well-attended winter/spring indoor nets training programme.

Training sessions will continue every Friday until July 12 and will run from 6.30pm until 8pm.

Children can be registered on any subsequent Friday for those not able to make it on April 19.

Director of Cricket Phil Smith said: “Our new outdoor nets facility has been up and running since the end of last season and these should prove to be a fantastic new amenity to enhance our training nights, particularly for the older cohorts."

Fixtures
Matches for Under 11s and Under 13s get underway during the week commencing Monday, April 22.

Matches for our other age groups (Under 10s, U12s, U15s, U17s and the new girls team) will get underway in subsequent weeks.

You can find details of all of the Club’s Junior fixtures online at our ‘PlayCricket’ site, via the link provided here (filter by team/month/location, etc).

Fees
Registration fees and annual subs for the 2024 season are frozen at last year’s prices. They remain some of the most competitive around and are as follows:

£150: annual membership fee covering all junior training sessions and all junior matches for the outdoor season. The fee also covers the cost of a club match shirt, training shirt or cap.

£100: annual membership fee for non-match playing colts (usually under 9s) and siblings of full-paying junior members. This fee also covers the cost of a club-branded clothing item.

Older junior members selected to play in adult matches on weekends or evenings will not need to pay an additional membership fee but will be asked to contribute £5 match fees per game.

You can pay the annual subs online immediately, or at any other time, using the following details:

Mill Hill Village Sports Club
Sort Code 40-05-07
Account number 91443135

The club can also take card payments at the club on registration night or at any of the subsequent Friday evening sessions.

All Stars and Dynamos
Details of the England and Wales Cricket Board’s national starter programmes for 5 to 8-year-olds, known as All Stars, and 8 to 11-year-olds, known as Dynamos, will be announced in due course.
