Individual achievements recognised across the club after another successful season

Mill Hill Village Cricket Club celebrated the conclusion of their hugely successful 2024 season in style, with an end-of-season awards ceremony that saw individual achievements recognised across the senior membership following the 1st XI’s stunning promotion-winning campaign.

The man of the hour was 1st XI allrounder Sam Smith, who took home a hat-trick of awards.

Smith was named Player of the Season, voted for by his teammates, and topped both the 1st XI's Highest Run Scorer and Highest Wicket Taker charts, cementing his status as the club’s man for all occasions in a 1s side that finished second and won promotion to Division 4B.

MHVCC’s players were honoured across all senior teams, with winners announced in the following categories:

1st XI
* Player of the Season: Sam Smith
* Highest Run Scorer: Sam Smith (294 runs in 12 innings; average 29.40)
* Highest Wicket Taker: Sam Smith (36 wickets; average 9.28)

2nd XI
* Player of the Season: Momin Sadozai
* Highest Run Scorer: Dinesh Johnson (372 runs in 13 innings; average 31.00)
* Highest Wicket Taker: Momin Sadozai (20 wickets at 11.35)

3rd XI
* Player of the Season: Phil Smith
* Highest Run Scorer: Phil Smith (360 runs in 10 innings; average 40.00)
* Highest Wicket Taker: Andrew Godfrey (17 wickets at 13.24)

4th XI
* Player of the Season: Hayden Molenkamp
* Highest Run Scorer: Joe Sheridan (225 runs in six innings; average 37.50)
* Highest Wicket Taker: Kaneel Mathurata (8 wickets at 21.88)

The celebrations capped off a fantastic season for MHVCC, with individual efforts adding to the club’s collective success on the field. The club was crowned T20 cup champions for teams in the lower/regional divisions. In addition, the 4th XI also finished second place in Division 11 East. They face a nervous wait in the coming days before promotion is confirmed.
